Authentic finds aplenty at the Pop-Up Vintage Village market in Stockport Market Hall
If vintage is your thing then pay a visit to the ‘Pop-Up’ Vintage Village in Stockport’s glorious Market Hall and you are sure to leave a happy person. The event fills this traditional Victorian market place with over 80 stalls of authentic vintage finds for a whole day every second Sunday of the month. The cast-iron and glass landmark is centrally located, easy to find and well served by public transport. There’s also plenty of nearby car parking most of which is free on Sundays.
On arrival, simply follow the smell of freshly brewed coffee and anyone you see wearing vintage inspired outfits. The stall holders all dress up which adds to the lovely atmosphere and perfect setting of the day. Whether you are looking for a 1960s vintage handbag or an authentic picnic hamper, the Vintage Village has some great items for every wardrobe and home, and I am delighted to say that the prices are very affordable with some great bargains to be had.
The key is to get there as the doors open. I love being able to browse the stalls in the calm morning atmosphere. I also recommend boosting your energy levels at the onsite cafe – a great place to pick up a decent latte and complementary muffin. Outside the venue there are plenty of handy cashpoints close by, although my advice is to take plenty of change as you are bound to find some excellent bargains that will surprise your purse.
